Pt. 2: Dr. Angel Velazquez on Reds players McLain & Encarnacion-Strand’s injuries
Well, injuries and cold bats have derailed the Reds season so far. That continued on Wednesday, May 8, when Christian Encarnacion-Strand was placed on the IL. However, the Reds did get a little good news after Matt McLain’s follow up appointment to evaluate his progress after shoulder surgery—he has been cleared to participate in light baseball activities in the next few weeks. What does this mean? With this type of injury, could we see him back on the field before the season ends? Dr. Velazquez will answer all of those burning questions! Bengals At Lions Preview - Lindsay Patterson

First up, Bengals rookie Ja’Marr Chase with another award this week – NFL Offensive Rookie of the Week (again)   Your @pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week! pic.twitter.com/whueS2NAy8 —...

Hello!

I was born in Wilmington, Ohio, and my family is from a small town, Sabina, Ohio. It’s about an hour away from Cincinnati. I went to Wilmington College and studied broadcasting/communications. My senior year, I interned in radio and sports production, and that’s when I started to get into the sports world. My friends call me LP.

I grew up in a football-loving family. I always felt like the little girl in Remember the Titans. My brothers played sports, my dad coached football and I spent my childhood at the practice field playing the water girl and starting to love the game. My mom thought when she was having her baby girl I’d grow up and love girly things, but instead they got a little tomboy. ☺️

My dad has been a season-ticket holder for the Bengals since before I was born, so I knew I’d have a love for football. My first game with him was the day Corey Dillon broke the yards rushing record, and the Bengals won that day. I’ve never looked back, and that was the day I told my dad one day I’m going to work in the NFL or sports world.

I’ve held different sports jobs in Cincinnati. From production, sideline reporter and host. It was a great experience and I learned so much about the business. I’ve also learned that the people behind-the-scenes are some of the hardest workers in the game with the best stories. J My number one sports love is the NFL, and I could talk about it all day. It’s pretty cool to see women move up in the front office and get a shot in the sports world, too.

I currently live in Covington, KY, and it was the best move I’ve ever made. It’s such a cute big/small town and just a walk to downtown and Reds games. I’m an aunt to four girls and one boy, and it’s by far one of my favorite jobs and the best part about growing up. They also think it’s pretty cool I work for the radio station Q102. ☺️ My favorite food spots in Cincinnati/NKY: Pep and Delores, a good Jeff Ruby steak and Hotel Covington.

I love to travel. I took a dream trip to London to see the Spice Girls at Wembley Stadium and spent a few days in Paris drinking wine while the sun set on the tower. My biggest piece of advice—always buy the plane ticket and take that trip.

Stuff you may not know about me: I don’t like cheese – I know it’s crazy, and my family doesn’t understand it. So, yes, I eat my Skyline without cheese. 😉

Follow along over on Twitter, I love to tweet, and it might be my favorite social app. ☺️

I hope whatever I do is opening doors for the next group of girls. ☺️
